Welcome to Wright-Patt Credit Union
Surprising Products and Unexpected Service
As not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperatives, credit unions have the unique ability to make a difference for you and your family! We make sure your relationship is a satisfying one by providing service above and beyond what you have come to expect from a financial institution. No one will work harder to earn your trust and confidence. Wright-Patt Credit Union is committed to helping you and your family through life. We do not simply offer checking accounts, mortgages, car loans, and IRAs. We do something much more fundamental: we help you and your family live happier, more financially secure lives, no matter what important stage of life you’re in.
The Credit Union Difference
Is a credit union like a bank? Yes and no. As a member of a credit union, you have access to most of the same consumer services a bank offers – savings, checking, loans, credit cards, IRAs, financial planning, ATMs and more. Your funds are also federally insured and your day-to-day transactions work much like they would through a bank. But the accounts and services we offer are simply the tools we use to help make you happier, more secure, and more productive than if you had chosen another financial institution.
Vision Statement Our vision is to be the best
organization our member-owners have ever experienced and the best place our partner-employees have ever worked.
Mission Statement Our mission is to help people through life.
And there is a bigger difference. A credit union’s earnings don’t go to stockholders. They come to you – in the form of higher dividends on your shares (savings) and lower interest rates on your loans. That’s the credit union difference. The first credit union in the United States was established in 1909 in New Hampshire. Today, Wright-Patt Credit Union is one of over 7,600 federally insured credit unions in the United States. The combined membership of these credit unions totals more than 91 million members and it continues to grow. The quality of service members receive from their credit unions is a key factor for continued growth. As the credit union movement’s motto declares, “not for profit, not for charity, but for service.”

Credit Union Choice
A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and operated by its members for the benefit of all who belong. Credit unions were established to encourage financial responsibility among a group of people who have something in common, such as the same employer. They are designed to promote thrift through convenient, systematic savings and to provide a quick, economical source of credit. Every member of a credit union is a “major shareholder.” By having the opportunity to vote in the election of the Board of Directors, eligible credit union members have a voice in major issues affecting the credit union. All elected officials (other than employees) serve voluntarily and without pay, including the Board of Directors.
So you are not a customer – you are one of the owners.
Credit Union Advantages
Wright-Patt Credit Union is operated for your benefit, not for someone else’s profit. All members share the rewards of its strength and success in the form of affordable rates on loans; great returns on your savings; excellent growth of the money you have invested for the future; special programs to help you manage your finances; and low or no fees for all services and products. We are also committed to providing you with the surprising products and unexpected level of service you deserve. We understand how hard you have worked to earn your money. We understand the dreams you have for yourself and your family, and also understand that everyone needs help at some time. Your credit union isn’t just there for you – we are you. And we are thousands of other people with goals, dreams and financial needs, just like you.
That’s the credit union difference.
About Wright-Patt Credit Union
The organization that is now Wright-Patt Credit Union was founded in 1932. It was during the national economic depression of the early 1930s that federal employees at Wright Field (now Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) recognized the need for an “every person” financial institution. Since that time, we’ve become Ohio’s largest member-owned credit union and one of the largest nationwide. Today, Wright-Patt serves thousands of members from numerous employer and community groups and associations. While we take a conservative, responsible approach to handling our members’ money, Wright-Patt has a progressive attitude toward products and services. We are continually adding and expanding our products to meet our members’ needs and looking for opportunities to provide our members better deals on their financial services. We maintain state-of-the-art data processing systems to handle the growing volume of financial products and services our members use. We also provide ongoing training programs to increase staff and management capabilities and to enhance service to our members.
Wright-Patt’s Financial Services Savings Accounts to Help Your Money Grow
Your Wright-Patt Credit Union savings are recorded as “shares.” Because we are a financial cooperative, your shares represent your part-ownership of Wright-Patt Credit Union. At Wright-Patt, your TrueSaver share account will earn dividends – in much the same way a bank savings account earns interest – from the first penny saved. But at Wright-Patt, the dividend rate increases with higher average daily balances. So, the more money you save, the more you earn!

Share Insurance to Protect Your Hard Earned Money
All Wright-Patt shares (including savings accounts, checking accounts, money market accounts, share certificates, and club accounts) are federally insured up to a total of $250,000 per ownership interest by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUA is an agency of the federal government, similar to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The NCUA insures an additional $250,000 per ownership interest on Individual Retirement Accounts.

(“CFS”), a registered broker-dealer and SEC Registered Investment Advisor. Products offered through CFS: are not NCUA/NCUSIF or otherwise federally insured, are not guarantees or obligations of the credit union, and may involve investment risk including possible loss of principal. Investment Representatives are registered through CFS. Wright-Patt Credit Union has contracted with CFS to make non-deposit investment products and services available to credit union members. (Member FINRA/SIPC)
Affordable Loans for the Things You Need
Low-cost loans are available to all members of Wright-Patt Credit Union with approved credit. Your credit union isn’t in business to make a profit for anyone except its members, so the interest charged for loans is the minimum needed to pay for the organization’s expenses, member services and required reserves. In most cases, you’ll find our loan rates and payment terms are easier on your budget than those required by a bank. In addition to auto and personal loans, we offer several mortgage programs to help make your dream home a reality. Wright-Patt Credit Union is also here to help you evaluate and prepare your finances before you purchase your home. Mortgage loans processed and underwritten by myCUmortgage, LLC. — a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wright-Patt Credit Union, Inc. All loans subject to credit approval and property appraisal.

At Wright-Patt, we love giving you a better checking deal. We offer three different checking account products tailored to meet the needs of our members’ unique lifestyles.

Increasing the Value of Your Credit Union Membership
“Everyone who has an account at WPCU is a shareholder, and you see those rewards in what they offer. You’re working toward a common goal, and you’re working together. Wright-Patt is going to tell you the best thing for you. You actually have a stake in the credit union – they work with your money, and everyone in the credit union is working together.”

Benefits of Cooperation
As a credit union, Wright-Patt is a member-owned and operated not-for-profit financial cooperative. That means Wright-Patt joins our members together to meet each others’ needs by pooling their financial resources. Like other credit unions, Wright-Patt uses your pooled resources to cover operational costs and then returns everything to you through the benefits of better rates on savings and loan products, and overall lower service fees or even no fees at all. The success of a cooperative like Wright-Patt is dependent upon the commitment of its members. The more members who actively use Wright-Patt, the stronger our cooperative becomes, giving it the ability to return more value to our members. That’s why we reward our members’ use of Wright-Patt products and services in a program called Member Choice. It’s a simple plan that will benefit you directly.
Ways to Contribute
Belonging to Wright-Patt Credit Union makes a lot of sense, especially the more you use your membership. You can increase the benefits of credit union membership to yourself and other members by contributing in one or more of the following ways:
1. Making deposits. Members who contribute as depositors make it possible for Wright-Patt to make loans to
other members.
2. Taking out loans. Members who borrow at Wright-Patt are contributing to the cooperative by paying interest on the money
3. Paying for transaction services as you go, including cashing checks and withdrawing funds.
they borrowed. The interest is used to pay dividends and the operating expenses of the credit union.
When members cooperate with each other by making deposits and taking out loans, we’re able to enhance the value of credit union membership for every member involved. That’s why, if you keep a certain average daily balance in deposits and/or loans, you are eligible for additional savings, exclusive offers and fewer fees. It’s our way at Wright-Patt of focusing on you – the member – and your financial future. A complete Member Choice chart is available on the next page to show you how to get more from your membership with Wright-Patt. For example, with a relationship (total deposits and loans) balance of $300 - $9,999, you can become a Partner Member. With that Partner Member Choice level, you would receive added freebies including four free teller-assisted transactions a month, six free non-WPCU ATM transactions per month, a free box of checks each year, and more! If your participation included the following, you would qualify as an Advantage member, with free teller transactions, free cashier’s checks and money orders, and more:
• $7,500 used car loan • $3,500 money market • $795 average checking account balance
(Total: $11,795)

How to Avoid Fees
Our goal at Wright-Patt is to provide each of our members with lower costs and the best return possible on every financial product we offer. Our objective is NOT to increase fee income by charging members for their account, but to ask for a relatively equal contribution from each member based on how they choose to use their credit union membership.
To continue enjoying your credit union membership with little or no fees, please consider the following: • Initiate a direct deposit or a transfer deposit from another financial institution (ACH) that posts to your account at least once each month and you’ll automatically achieve Partner level status. • Increase your combined loan and deposit balances to a monthly average of $300 or more, and you will be able to conduct at least four (4) FREE teller-assisted transactions each month.
• Use automated ways of conducting routine transactions such as ATM/Debit card transactions, online banking, and Call-24™. All of these services are FREE. All WPCU ATM transactions will be FREE. (Non-WPCU ATM owner surcharges may apply.) Wright-Patt encourages our members to do business with us at the lowest possible cost to them. In every instance where a fee applies, we provide an alternative to avoid the fee. * Members can automatically attain Partner status by maintaining a Direct Deposit or a recurring ACH deposit that posts at least monthly. Direct deposit must equal $100 or more per month. Must be a member in good standing. ** The combination of deposit and loan balances determines relationship. All members with first mortgages are automatically placed in the Premier group for 5 years. *** Transactions are teller-assisted cash withdrawals, check cashing, balance transfers & balance inquiries. Also includes Help Center based transactions. **** Please refer to the Account Disclosure for Select Checking and General Fee Schedule for complete details. ***** The FREE foreign ATM transaction refers to the $0.60 cost to WPCU, not the non-WPCU ATM owner surcharge. Premier members are eligible to receive a maximum ATM surcharge rebate of $10 per month. Bring receipts to one of our Member Centers or mail with your name and account number to: Wright-Patt Credit Union, P.O. Box 340134, Beavercreek, Ohio 45431, Attention: ATM Rebate.

WPCU POLICIES: CHECK HOLD
Frequently Asked Questions about Check Holds Helping You Understand Your Credit Union’s Policies
“I appreciate Wright-Patt Credit Union’s safeguards against fraud. They really have their members’ best interests at heart.” Latricia M.
Member since 2011
Check Hold FAQs Why are check holds necessary? You may have noticed that when you deposit a check, Wright-Patt Credit Union and other financial institutions may not make all of your money available to you on the same day as your deposit. This practice is commonly referred to as a “hold”, and it allows time for us to collect funds from whoever wrote the check to you. We want your accounts to be safe, and our check holds help protect you, your fellow members, and your credit union. How long can you hold my check? During the hold, we use the tools that we have in place to help determine whether a check is legitimate and whether there are funds available for the amount for which it was written. Check holds can vary from 2 to 7 business days based on several factors, including the check amount. Exceptions may be made based on available funds in your account and your account history. When will funds from my check be available? When you deposit funds at a WPCU Member Center or WPCU-operated ATM, $200 of your deposit will be made available to you within the first business day after the day of your deposit*. A Member Experience Representative will inform you about the other portion(s) of the funds that are on hold, and when they will be available to you. This information will also appear on your deposit receipt. *Some restrictions may apply What happens if a check that I deposit is “bad”? Returned checks are costly to members and the credit union because of lost funds and potential legal fees. If a check is returned to us as “non-sufficient funds” (NSF), you are responsible for paying those funds back to the credit union, and your account is subject to a returned check fee. Depending on your available funds, you also risk incurring service charges related to overdrawing your account. You’ve worked hard for your money and our check holds help protect your accounts from lost funds and returned check fees! What about check scams? If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Unfortunately many bad checks are the result of scams. Some members have received letters informing them they have won a lottery, an email asking them to be a secret shopper, or an overpayment for an item listed in a classified ad. The sender asks the member to cash a check and return some of the money to the sender – and suddenly the member is responsible for paying the credit union the entire amount of the phony check! Your best defense against becoming a victim is education. Visit www.ftc.gov or www.fakechecks. org for more information about check scams. As your credit union, our first priority is the safety and security of your accounts. While check holds are not a guarantee against fraud, they do allow us time to investigate a check. Please read our Funds Availabilty Policy at www.WPCU.coop for more information about check holds.

DIRECT DEPOSIT
Direct Deposit Save Time and Money!
“I was on vacation several years ago when my paycheck did not arrive in the mail as it was supposed to. By the time the check arrived, several checks had bounced with my old bank and I was charged an excessive amount in fees. Now I use Wright-Patt’s direct deposit for my checks so I can always be sure my money is there when I need it.”

Direct Deposit
With all of your daily responsibilities, it sometimes can be hard to find even five minutes to visit a Member Center to cash your paycheck. Direct deposit helps save that time for you! Whether it’s your net pay, a payroll deduction, or military allotment, Wright-Patt’s direct deposit is one of the best time savers for our members. Once you are enrolled, your funds will automatically be deposited into your account of choice, eliminating your need to deposit your check in person. Plus, a portion of your payroll deposit can automatically be transferred to any share (savings) or checking account, or to any loan payments you wish. All you have to do is tell us where the money should go, and we’ll do the rest!
Signing Up
To start using Wright-Patt’s direct deposit, talk to your employer’s payroll department, or visit www.wpcu.coop to download a direct deposit form. You will want to know Wright-Patt Credit Union’s ABA/Routing number in order to set up your direct deposit, payroll deduction and other automatic deposits and withdrawals on savings, checking, and loan accounts. Using this format will help your transactions process more efficiently. An ABA number, also known as the Routing and Transit number, uniquely identifies Wright-Patt Credit Union and is used for electronic processing. The ABA number consists of nine consecutive digits inside transit symbols. Wright-Patt Credit Union’s ABA number is 242279408. This is the first string of numbers listed on the bottom of your checks. You will also want to use your account’s unique 13-digit processing number. This is the second number printed on the line at the bottom of your checks. The number can be broken into three parts. The first digit is to identify whether you want to process the automatic deposit or withdrawal from a Share (1) or a Loan (2). The next two numbers identify the specific share or loan ID. The final ten numbers are your basic account number (with leading zeros).
