A REFERENCE LIST ON CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC This is a revised and updated version o f th e reference list that appeared in the first issue of the Canadian Folk Music Journal in 1973. It is selective rather than com plete: it includes m ost books of traditional songs and m ost records by traditional singers, along with som e representative articles on various aspects of C anadian folk m usic and som e folk-song records by non-traditional singers. T he published m aterial has been divided into language groupings, with a general sec­ tion for works that include songs in two or m ore languages. Asterisks indicate item s that include m ore extensive bibliographies. The list o f com positions based on Canadian folk music is necessarily lim ited but it includes both published and unpublished works. (Publishers are indicated in short form in brackets.)
